Great results today and got over $1000 so cashed out first $500.
Did 9 45p SNGS and got 1 first 2 thirds and 1 fourth
Did 8 $20+2 9p SNGS and got 2 first 2 seconds and 1 third
overall so far:
Done 31 9p SNGS invested $594 won $927
Done 26 45p SNGS invested $257 won $666.
The last week was pretty entertaining:- examples
1 45p SNG with about 15 players left. blinds 200-400 and I have about 4000. I'm big blind. Two limpers one of who is all in for about 650. If have 86 off. I call the little bet extra and so does the other limper. Flop 962 rainbow. Check check. Turn is a 4 - I bet 600 other player folds. All in guy catches up on river. The player who folded goes into a major rant about betting into the side pot and calls me an idiot. She would have won if I'd checked again blah blah blah. These people have no idea whatsoever. They just read somewhere that these sidepots should be checked around. We were nowhere near the bubble and an 2000 pot was very significant to my stack. But what really made me laugh was the same player when the blinds were 250-500
calls a 1500 raise leaving herself with 395 behind in a 3 way hand and then folds on the flop. Then later, somehow she got back up to nearly 1000 and folded her 500 big blind. How can this person call me an idiot - these players have no clue.
2 In a 9 player SNG I am crippled to 55 chips with the blinds at 100-200. I came second. It was amazing how quickly it can change. I got my stack back up to 6000 but lost heads up. The chip leader really helped me and the other two medium stacks ranted about it. First hand I'm all in UTG for 55 - big chip leader goes all in also - i hit a pair and quadruple up thanks to him getting the blinds out. He goes all in again next hand - I think i was big blind - I win that as well - I shove on my small blind with an ace - he calls obviously - and before I know it I'm back up to 600/700. The other two players were really ranting at the chip leader - it was hilarious. They are his chips he can do what he wants with them.
3 Sharkscope - this appears to be the latest thing to do when someone has beaten you in a pot is to look up their stats and publicly out them for being a losing player. That is so stupid and classless but I am seeing it all the time now.
Closing roll $699. (net of $500 cashout)

Turbulent weekend!
Well what can I say - the weekend went well until Sunday afternoon then it was a disaster.
Continued doing well until 4pm Sunday and was up to about $650. Then the biggest downswing ever! Lost half of the bankroll playing only $5, $10 and $20 tournies.
Was up to about $650 and just before going out for dinner I did 4*$20+2 9p SNGS - lost all of these. Ok not too happy but not too bad.
For the rest of the night did 20 18p SNGS - about half of them $20+2 and only managed 2 minimum cashes! I don't know what was wrong - I bubbled quite a few - the question of being aggressive around bubble time remains open for me - I have scraped into the money many times while others knock each other out - I did play quite aggressive and open shoved a lot but it didn't work well and I kept getting called! I had a lot of bad beats as well and was on tilt also so lost early in quite a few.
So my favourite tourney the 18ps is complete for the 50 and back to break even. Still have to do 10 45ps and 6 9ps and the challenge will be over. Going to be tough to make it to $500.
Was very annoyed last night but tried to console myself by remembering that this is all off a $30 deposit and at least I stuck to the bankroll management rules and didn't tilt the whole lot off. I was VERY tempted to stick the whole $300 into a cash game at the end of the night but managed to haul myself to bed!
Closing roll $310.

Successful night
Last night (Friday) went very well. Doubled bankroll, playing only $5 and $10 SNGS. Despite drinking a whole bottle of wine!
Did 11 18p SNGs- 7 $5.5 (1 3rd 2 2nds) 4 $11 (1 1st 1 deal (chopped 1st and 2nd)). So have now doen 20 18p SNGs with a profit of $186.5.
Did 5 45p SNGs (3 $10 and 2 $5) - only one cash - first in one of the $5 ones. Have now done 20 45p SNGs with a profit of $55.75.
Did 4 9p SNGS ($10) - (1 1st 1 chop 1st and 2nd 2 busts). Have now doe 24 9p SNGs with a loss of $7.5.
Don't know about this deal thing. It's a new thing on Full Tilt. I'd rather not to be honest as I'm playing diversified enough but when someone wants to do one it is kind of awkward to say no. Once I turned one down and it kind of put me on tilt and I felt stupid when I lost.

Results so far
So far of the 150 challenge have done:
9p SNGS - 20 played loss $44.5
Hopefully the experimenting is over and will be profitable now. Best strategy seems to be to not play speculative hands early and once down to 20 blinds play quite aggressive but only with marginally good hands at a minimum - e.g. K10 late position - and only raise 2.5* blind.
18p SNGS - 9 played profit $62
These have obviously been going well. I have found that at the final table people don't have a good idea of how important it is to make the money and do too many races. Have made the money with quite short stack a few times and still managed 1st or 2nd.
There are some real whiners on FTP. On one of them tonight I got crippled down to 400 chips early on - so a couple of hands later I call a raise of 100 (i am already BB of 40) with 78 off and when a 9 and a 10 flop I push in. I hit the Jack and the Six! Anyway the caller who had QQ (and didn't even reraise preflop) starts going on about what a fool I am. I wanted to explain to him that with 400 chips I wasn't going anywhere in the tourney and I didn't really care but I just left it.
45p SNGS - 15 played - profit $14.25
Only cashed in 2 of the 15 but fortunately won one of them. Pretty volatile and I'd rather cash more regularly without the wins but a profit is a profit I guess.
Was pretty unlucky tonight - we are in the money with 6 left I have 5000 chips and am big blind of 400. Call a raise to 1200 with Ac5c. Just me and the raiser in. Flop is a dream - 3c4h6c. I decide just to shove - I suppose I want him in so could have checked but I do just have ace hi and it's a decent pot already. He has Ace 6 and calls and I can't hit one of my 5000 outs!
This happened to me last night as well in a SNG when I had 4c5c - got an even better flop which had a 3 and 6 of clubs (can't remember the other) - the turn is a 5 - river's a blank and the other guys pocket 9s hold up. Not meaning to whine but I thought I'd be a big favourite with these draws. Maybe I should just check call with them from now one.
Oh well Thursday night and really knackered - looking forward to the weekend to get a good chance to play.

First night results
Well tonight went ok but really just due to the 18p tournies. For the 18 players ones I got one 1st and one 3rd out of 3 tournies.
The 9 player ones were not so good. Got two 3rds and one 1st out of 9 tournies. I'm having a real problem with the 9 player tournies on FTP. When I played the 10 man SNGS on Ongame I did much better. I guess they were a bit slower structure and tighter. On Ongame I could play speculative hands early on and get to see the flop not too expensive. It is more aggressive on FTP and it isn't even worth limping in early with a small pair or suited connectors. The other problem I had tonight was trying to play some flops when I had less than 20 blinds.
e.g. tonight I have 1200 chips in the big blind (BB 150) with 10 7 off. Folded to button who limps as does small blind. Flop 872 rainbow. Not too bad - i fire out a 1/2 pot bet. Button calls (he has me well covered). I have to think my 7 is good and that he has a str8 draw. Turn is a Queen. Well doesn't really hit the straight draws so I figure I should bet again - another 1/2 pot bet - he check raises all in - well what can I do I had about 3 blinds left - whatever - he has AA - i'm out.
So I don't know what to do in these situations - if I check I am just opening the door for him to steal it. The 9p SNGs just seem so short stacked that I can't play a pot after level 3. Maybe it will be better to use the Moshman pushing tables once I am shortstacked.
Another problem tonight was losing value - twice I flopped full houses with unpaired hole cards and with 5/6 people in pot got no action. e.g. early on in one SNG i'm in unraised small blind with KQ and flop is KKQ. Most of the table have limped in. I fire out a pot sized bet. I know this looks stupid but I figure someone out of all the players in must have something. I've tried slowplaying these in the past but failed to build a pot. Anyway they all folded!
Also did two 45p SNGS but no luck on these. They need a bit of patience i guess.

150 SNG challenge
Starting up blog again - more to keep track of results and to make sure I stay disciplined.
First target is to do 150 SNGs, 50 9player,50 18 player and 50 45player.
Starting roll $182.68 - aim to get to $500 after complete. Max 5% roll for 9p and 18p 2% for 45p.
Going to do some experimenting with strategy
9p SNGS - going to do 5 very tight - good hands only - no limping with speculative hands - folding hands such as KQ, J10 once <20 blinds in certain positions - then 5 more aggressive - then 5 using Moshman pushing tables.
18p SNGS - first experiment is to see if it is better to limp with speculative hands early or not.
45p SNGS - first 5 are going to be semi-loose passive - i.e. limp with suited connectors etc but only small pots - wait for good hands (i.e. good ace or pair) once less than 20 blinds - next 5 more aggressive with marginal hands once <20 blinds - next 5 using Moshman pushing tables.
Will post and update after the first session
