Monday results

Back to work today glad that's overs. Had a squash game as well - nearly as bad as the other day but I guess it helps with the diet. Only time for 1 hour poker - 2nd in a 10player SNG (these are going well last 4 have been 2212) and about 2 bucks (wow:) in a cash game.
Two hands I remember from SNG were
Stack around 4000 down to 6 - I raise UTG with AcKh to 700 (blinds 100-200) all fold except BB who calls flop 10Jack5 one club - I check - don't like to continue bet with a J10 there as it gives too many hands a draw - hope he doesn't bet too much - he checks turn is Qc - I think its kind of obvious that I have AK on the flop as its about the only hand I'd raise preflop and bet happy to check the flop - he bets 900 - I decide just to smooth call - turn is 2c - I go all in he folds - think i misplayed it possibly on the flop definitely on the turn - he had something good I'm sure - could have got him all in on turn and the river club scared him off.
3 handed I messed up and went to heads up shortstacked - the key thing in the hand was that third place didn't even have a blind left and I think the leader is just playing on that. short stack (button folds) - I call from small blind (300-600) with A8 off. Flop is K75 (two hearts) I bet 600 he calls - he has been calling every time I make a stab on the flop and I think Ahi might be good turn is another K (no heart) check check river is a 2 (non heart) I check he bets 1200 I call - he had the 5 - 95 or something - great value bet on his part I guess - 90% of players would have been happy to check there I think. I thought he'd just missed a flush draw and was playing on the fact I didn't want to be 3rd with the short stack having less than a blind.
I've been trying to make too many heroic calls lately I think - sometimes they work but people don't bluff as much as I sometimes think.
Oh well hung on for 2nd - getting sick of 2nd - 1st is another 10 bucks and makes a nice difference.
Closing roll $218 - slowly getting there - if get to $220 can start doing the $10 tournies
